ZP CEO seeks report on foreign-returnees

Bhatkal: Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Roshan visited the Government Hospital in Bhatkal on Tuesday and later held a meeting with the hospital staff, private hospital staff and Asha workers to give necessary suggestions.

He instructed them to visit all houses in Bhatkal Town Municipal Council and Jali Town Panchayat limits to collect information on foreign-returnees and check their health. He also asked them to submit a report on that within 48 hours. He said that the Bhatkal taluk administration must take steps to check all the 9,000 houses in 22 wards of the Town Municipal Council limits. 

80 teams of hospital nurses and Asha workers have to be formed to reach these houses and police protection must be provided to these teams while they visit houses, he added.

He said that isolation and quarantine wards have been set up in government hospital to treat patients and people must be made aware of this.


He also instructed to take up fumigation in areas where Covid-19 positive cases have been reported and also in places which are vulnerable. Taluk Health officer Murthyraj Bhat and others were present.

Former Assistant Commissioner of Bhatkal Sajid Ahmed Mulla, who was currently serving as the Special Land Acquisition Officer of Honnavar, has been appointed as the Bhatkall Sub-division Co-ordinating officer and he took charge on Tuesday itself.
