Well-known Bhatkali personality Syed Abdullah Lanka passes away at 84

Bhatkal: Well-known personality of Bhatkal, and former president of Welfare hospital, Bhatkal, Syed Abdullah Lanka passed away at the age of 84 in the early hours of Wednesday, here at a private hospital in Bhatkal.

Abdullah was suffering from pro-longed illness and was admitted at a private hospital since a week, where he breathed his last. Since he fell ill, he remained out of public events for the last few years.

He served as an executive member and patron of an educational organization 'Tarbiat-e-Ikhwan' in Bhatkal. He also served as the President of Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council, Islamic Welfare Society, Bhatkal and Nawayath Mehfil, Bhatkal.

Abdullah is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters. The funeral prayers are expected to be held at Tanzeem Juma Masjid in Nawayath colony on Wednesday after Zohar prayers.
