Good news for Cricketers from Bhatkal & Uttara Kannada; now get an opportunity to play in KSCA approved cricket tournaments

Bhatkal: "Bhatkal Sports Academy, which is participating in the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) approved Cricket tournaments, is setting up teams of Under 14, Under 16 and Under19 along with two teams of senior players' of Uttara Kannada district, based upon their performance and other conditions. Players from all over Uttara Kannada district including Bhatkal can enroll their names according to the age if willing to join these teams", informed Mr. Waseem KM, Managing Director of Bhatkal Sports Academy.

Waseem said that any player from the district who wants to enroll their name can contact on mobile number 8904600600 and give their information. The selection of players will be held on October 11 and October 13.  A team comprised of senior players, including three teams: U-14, U-16 and U-19, will be able to play in KSCA approved tournaments, he said.

However, a team consisting of senior players has already won the fourth division tournament with the best performances, now that team has qualified for the third division tournament. According to Waseem, the players qualified for the third division will also be checked for their performance and only the fit players will be placed in the team for the next tournament. Else, new players can be given a chance to be in the team if the performance of the new entrants is excellent.

The next badge of the Bhatkal Cricket Academy will be starting on October 6, providing full coaching to the cricketers, and training them through cricket experts. Players can participate and create a buzz in their game and also get a chance to participate in state and national level cricket tournaments through this academy. He said that the first session will be from 6 AM to 8 PM and the second session will be from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. It may be recalled that a 16-year-old Saurav Saman, hailing from Karwar, and player of Bhatkal Sports Academy, is currently playing in the under-16 KSCA Zonal Level tournament in Bengaluru, representing Hubli Zonal Level. Similarly, an Under-16 team of Bhatkal Sports is participating in the 50-over cricket tournament of Karnataka State Cricket Academy in Hubli next month, which includes several players from Bhatkal, Murdeshwar and Manki. Mr. Waseem wishes that other players from Bhatkal and neighbouring regions should take interest in this and get qualified until the national team by obtaining good coaching.
