Two killed in accident

Udupi: Two men were killed on the spot after the two-wheeler in which they were travelling by collided with a lorry near Sankadagundi in Shiroor under Byndoor police station limits on Monday.

Police have identified the deceased as Nagaraj (33) and Durgappa Moger (43), residents of Alvegadde. The duo were working on a fishing boat and were returning home when the accident occurred.

Nagaraj was riding the bike and Durgappa was riding pillion, an eyewitness told police. Such was the impact of the accident, that the men were thrown off the bike and fell on the ground. Both suffered head injuries and were shifted to the Government hospital in Kundapur by local residents.

But they were declared dead on arrival by doctors.

A case was registered by Byndoor police station.
