Two interstate thieves arrested in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The city police on Tuesday arrested two interstate thieves in connection with interstate thefts and various other theft cases in Mulki police station limits in the outskirts of Mangaluru.

The arrested are Sawad alias Chawwa (24), a resident of K R Rao Nagar of Kolnadu in Karnad village, and Muhammed Sinan (19), a resident of 10th Thokur village. Hiyaz and other accused persons are absconding.

According to the sources, an SUV car and two motorbikes, stolen from Goa, a pickup vehicle and two other motorbikes used for the crime as well as three mobile phones have been recoverd from the arrested.

The arrested were also involved in the theft of valuables in houses and temples in Mulki police station limits. The value of the stolen items was estimated to be around Rs 40 lakh.
