Bhatkal: Drunk driver arrested for following car, misbehaving with women

Bhatkal: Four persons including a car driver was arrested by the Bhatkal police after they were accused of misbehaving with women who were in the other car here at Bhatkal NH66 on Wednesday evening. 

It is said that the accused group, hailing from Mangaluru was on the way to Jog falls. 

The family members belonging to Muhammad Mushtaq, a resident of Azad Nagar in the town, who were on another car, had been to Kundapur with medical treatment. On their return journey, their car was followed and chased from Byndoor by a group of drunken people in another car after creating a ruckus near Byndoor.

According to Mushtaq, the group following from Byndoor tried to harass the women, after which he alerted his relatives in Bhatkal to make sure that the car gets caught in the town. The car was successfully made to stop in Bhatkal. This resulted in traffic jam on the highway. 

As police received the information, they rushed to the spot and arrested four persons and also took their car into their custody. 

Hundreds of locals too gathered at police station demanding severe action against the accused.
