Three youth killed in Sirsi road accident

Sirsi: Three youth reportedly killed after the Omni car in which they were traveling was rammed over by a KSRTC bus here at Gadihalli cross in Sirsi taluk on Sunday evening.

The deceased are identified as Tanveer (17), Mustafa (19) and Firoz Khan (19). The injured is Maqbool (19). All are said to be residents of Kasturba nagar in Sirsi.

Tanveer and Mustafa succumbed on the spot, while Firoz who sustained critical injuries was boarded to hospital in the ambulance. Unfortunately, he breathed last on the way.

Another injured Maqbool have been rushed to hospital in the ambulance. 

Sources informed that the mishap happened when the car was heading towards Sirsi from Banavasi, while the bus was in the opposite direction. Both had an head-on collision.

As the information was alerted Sirsi rural police officials rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigation.

A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are underway.
