Three shops and a house burgled in Bhatkal; cash, ornaments stolen

Bhatkal: Early morning hours turned shocking for the locals in Bhatkal after an incident of burglary took place, in which thieves stole cash and some valuables from three shops and also entered the locked house and fled with cash including jewellery. The incident happened in Marikatta area in Bhatkal. 

According to CCTV footage, the theft took place around 3:30 AM.

It is learned that about Rs 30,000 in cash, burqas and other items were stolen from a burqa shop. Nearly 10,000 rupees cash and some goods were stolen from another shop. In the third shop, the thieves probably did not find anything. However, they also broke into a locked house near these shops and found jewelery including two gold chains, three rings, and also made away with Rs 10,000 in cash.

It is also informed that the burglars broke the shop shutters with the help of an iron bar, and entered the house by breaking the door lock to commit theft. The thieves had also changed the direction of some CCTV cameras, but some of the cameras managed to capture the images of the incident.

On receiving the information, Police reached the spot and gathered the details and are trying to trace the thieves with the help of CCTV footage.

Locals said that CCTV cameras have been installed by the police at several places in Marikatta and the thieves can be traced as soon as possible.
