JEDDAH: Saudi citizens, their immediate family members and their domestic staff are now able to enter the Kingdom by land from Kuwait, Bahrain and the UAE without obtaining prior authorization.

Land borders with those three countries reopened on Thursday.

The Kingdom banned entry by land on March 7 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Only a few travellers — given exemption for humanitarian reasons — have been able to enter the Kingdom since that date.

The easing of restrictions means the King Fahd Causeway connecting Saudi Arabia and Bahrain reopened on Thursday.
