First Covid-19 positive patient from Bhatkal recovers in Mangaluru, to be discharged tomorrow

Bhatkal: In a most comforting news for citizens of Bhatkal, the first patient of novel Coronavirus tested positive in Dakshina Kannada district, who hails from Bhatkal, has recovered fully from the disease at Wenlock hospital, Mangaluru, and will be discharged on April 6, informed Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner.

The 22-year-old youth, who hails from Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district, reached Mangaluru International airport from Dubai on 19th March, after which his throat swabs were sent for testing as he had Covid-19 symptoms. He was then confirmed positive for Covid-19 on 22nd March, after receiving reports from the lab.

He was undergoing treatment since then at Wenlock hospital, and after a period of 14 days, his throat swabs were sent for laboratory twice on April 2 and 3. The reports have been tested negative. Hence, he will be discharged from hospital on 6th April, said in a release.
