PU II: Uttara Kannada district jumps to 3rd position

Karwar: Uttara Kannada district has recorded 74.34% passing in PU II and has secured third position in the State as against fourth position it occupied for the last two years.

The results also improved by 1.29% this time.

Of the 14,231 students who wrote the exam, 10,580 passed. Even this time, girl students fared better than boys. Of the 7,978 girl students, 6,364 passed
and of the 6,253 boys, 4,216 passed.

The least passing percentage this year was in Arts stream where only 59.63% students passed. Science students did better with 84.55% passing and Commerce students with 77.37% passing. Of the 732 students who took the exam as private students, only 184 of them passed and of the 1,122 repeaters, only 374 cleared the exam.

Toppers

In Arts stream, Anagha Hegde of MES PU College, Sirsi secured first rank to the district with 95.83%. Sandeep Sudheer Marathe (95.67%) of Shridevi Composite PU College, Hulekal came second and M Chitrakanya of MES PU College, Sirsi (95.17%) came third.

In Commerce stream, Sudeep Mahesh Hegde (98.33%) of MES College, Sirsi came first to the district. Sanat Hegde (98%) of MPES SDM College, Honnavar came second and Sneha Nayak (97.83%) of Marikamba Government PU College, Sirsi came third.

In Science stream, Shreya Neelkanth Nayak (98.5%) of MPES SDM PU College, Honnavar stood first to the district. Pavan Hegde of MES PU College, Sirsi and Rashmi Gowda of MES Chaitanya PU College shared the second position with 98.33%. Chinmay Hegde and Kavana Hegde, both of MES PU College, shared the third position with 98%.
