One more tested positive for Coronavirus in Bhatkal; tally rises to 3

Bhatkal: With one fresh case of novel Coronavirus, the total number of people affected by COVID-19 in Bhatkal has now risen to 3 on Friday.

According to the Covid-19 media bulletin released by Karnataka government, 7 new cases of Covid-19 positive are reported in the state until 8:00 AM on Friday, in which one patient hails from Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district. With this, the tally of the Covid-19 positive cases in the state rised to 62, including 3 deaths and 5 recoveries.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar had issued a chart on Friday morning which stated that, till 26th March, samples of around 67 people were collected and sent for laboratory for testing, in which until now 9 have been tested negative and 1 was tested positive. With this, the tally of positive cases in Bhatkal has soared up to 3. The reports of remaining 55 people are yet to be received, DC informed.

It is also informed that in Uttara Kannada district other than Bhatkal, the samples of 4 each from Kumta and Karwar, 3 from Haliyal, 2 from Sirsi, and 1 each from Yellapur, Honnavar and Joida were sent for testing, in which all were tested negative except one report from Kumta is yet to be received.
