Heavy rain in Uttara Kannada; landslide takes place near Ankola

Karwar: Land slide occurred in Ankola taluk in Uttara Kannada district as heavy rain reported in coastal areas of the district including Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar and Bhatkal.

There were no casualties in the incident, but traffic was affected highly on NH-63 on the early hours of Thursday, 11th July.

According to sources, all the buses coming towards Mangaluru and other vehicles were stranded on the highway. Many locals blamed that the road clearing work was taken up very slowly.

The rain which lashed Uttara Kannada from last two days, continued today due to which normal life has been affected.
