National level student's seminar on World Ozone day held in KLE Belagavi

Belagavi: KLE Society’s Raj Lakhamagouda Science Institute (Autonomous), Belagavi organized a Student’s Initiative ‘One Day National Level Student’s Seminar’ on the occasion of ‘World Ozone Day’ organized by Department of Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology and IQAC on 16th September 2019 at Sir C.V.Raman Auditorium at 10.30 am.

The function commenced with an invocation song by Mr. Prateek & Group. Ms. Kamakshi Naik of BSC V semester welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest.

The dignitaries on the dais and student delegates inaugurated the seminar by watering the plant. The theme of World Ozone Day 2019 is ’32 years and Healing’.

Guest Speaker of the function Shri. Jaydeep Lengade, Management Systems Consultant, Belagavi and Founder Member of Green Savior’s shared his views and ideas on this day. To start with, he stayed the 6 R’s for waste management which stand for reject, reduce, reuse, repair, recycle and rot. Sir shared his experiences on how to imply these 6 R’s in our day-to-day life. He briefed about the average waste produced in Belagavi city and globally. He also made a note on ‘Sustainable Living’ of an individual. He encouraged the students to take part in various activities to contribute in reducing the waste produced by an individual annually.  

Dr.V.D.Yalamali, Principal, in his presidential remark spoke about the awareness of the depletion of the Ozone layer and to contribute in the safeguard it. Mr. Prithviraj Chavan of BSC V semester proposed the vote of thanks. On his day, about 120 student delegates from various colleges across the state presented papers on diverse sub themes. The function was compeered by Miss. Jayalaxmi & Ms. Vaishali.
