Covid-19: Mosques in Bhatkal sanitized

Bhatkal: To curb the spread of novel Coronavirus, Bhatkal Town Municipality has come up with an initiative of sanitizing the Mosques in the town and also the Panchayats of various areas in the taluk are actively working on spraying the disinfectant on residential places. Similarly, the government hospital and public places of Bhatkal too were sanitized couple of days before to curb the spread of COVlD-l9.

As the nation is under lockdown, the officials of Municipality and Panchayats are conducting the sterilization drive at various public places and residential areas. Also, around seven Mosques in the taluk were sanitized by government officials on Saturday. TMC chief officer informed that in the next couple of days, more Mosques would be sanitized. He also said that the drive is being taken up with the permission from the management of all the Mosques.

It is to be noted that the sterilization drive was also conducted in the surroundings of houses of those tested Covid-19 positive in Bhatkal on the same day when they received their medical reports.

Bhatkal has witnessed eight patients of Covid-19 positive, all are said to have been quarantined at Karwar Patanjali Hospital. One person, who landed at Mangaluru Airport from Dubai, has been admitted at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru. It has been reported that the health of all those kept in quarantine is in good condition.
