Udupi: Mission Indradhanush from Dec 2 to 10

Udupi: In a bid achieve the target of immunisation, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will organise Mission Indradhanush immunisation programme from December 2 to 10 and school vaccination programme from December 11 to 31, said Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha.

Chairing a meeting, he said from December 2 to 10, 324 toddlers, below the age of two; 67 pregnant women and 3,752 children will be given DPT booster vaccination. That apart 3,994 children, below the age 10, and 3,833 children, below the age of 16, will be given Tetanus-Diphtheria vaccination.

Jagadeesha directed the officials to ensure that children of migrant labourers are included in the immunisation programme.

Under school immunisation programme, children from anganwadi centres till class X in the district will be covered. Women and child development department officials should take necessary measures and awareness should be created at gram-panchayat level, he added. Officials said that training had already been imparted to health department  officials, Asha and Anganwadi workers for the implementation of Mission Indradhanush programme.
