Peaceful rally marks Milad Un Nabi celebration in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: Hundreds of people took part in the peaceful rally in Bhatkal on Sunday, to mark the celebrations of Milad Un-Nabi (PBUH), organized by Markazi Eid Milad committee, Bhatkal.

Celebrated on the 12th day of Rabi-Ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar,  Milad commemorates the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him).

The rally began from the Eidgah and passed through the Bunder Road, Shamshuddin Circle, the Main Road, Old bus stand, Sultan Street, Chowk Bazaar, Muhammed Ali Road, Main Bazar Road, Marikatta, before culminating near Darga at the local public square.

Many people joined it along the way at various points. Several students held banners and flags and placards praising Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) while some came in decorated vehicles. Huge crowd had gathered to witness the procession.

Milad is celebrated to mark it as the day Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) was born.

Elaborate security arrangements had been made and restrictions were imposed on vehicular movement. There was no any untoward incident or any hindrance.
