Honnavar: Man fights with leopard to save his life

Honnavar: A man was injured when a leopard attacked him while he was walking in a cashew plantation at Kadle in Honnavar taluk on Friday evening.

The leopard attacked Venkatramana Thimmappa Hegde but he fought with the leopard to save his life.

Venkatramana was walking in the plantation located in Survey No: 50 when the leopard pounced upon him. Giving information about it, his relative Ganesh Hegde said that the leopard targetted Venkataramana’s neck. But immediately, Venkatramana protected his neck keeping his hands there. The leopard then bit his hands and he fell down. But he managed to get a stone there and throw it at the leopard’s face. This made the leopard run away.

Venkatramana was taken to Honnavar Government Hospital for treatment.

This is for the first time that a leopard was spotted in Kadle village and so, this has created panic among the people.
