Mangaluru: Lecturer arrested for harassing student

Mangaluru: The Cyber police arrested a lecturer on the charges of harassing a research scholar and also posting an edited photograph of the student on social media.

The arrested is Dr Kondoor Sudheer Kumar of Acharya Nagarjuna University of Andhra Pradesh. The victim student was pursuing PhD under a guide in Mangaluru. She had come across Dr Kondoor in 2018. Kumar was pressurising her to accept him as her guide. Accordingly, when sought permission from the university to accept Kumar as guide, her request was rejected as he was not eligible for a guide.

Later, he had started allegedly harassing the student and her family. The family of the student had filed a complaint with cyber station on March 10. The police, who investigated, were successful in arresting him in Andhra Pradesh. The arrested has been released on bail.
