Karwar: Housing quarters for Police staffs inaugurated; More to come in district, assures Minister Hebbar

Karwar: Uttara Kannada District In-charge Minister Shivaram Hebbar inaugurated the district police staff housing quarters of 126 houses, here at Kajubagh in Karwar on Monday.

The Minister, inaugurating the apartments, said the government has a high concern for police personnel who are striving for the protection of the district even in the times of COVID-19 pandemic. He said, after bringing to the notice of Home Minister about housing difficulties faced by the police personnel, more houses will be constructed in the district. "The district has witnessed enough rainfall, and in such a case police personnel need safe housing. Also, the old police station buildings need to be renovated. The steps will be taken in this regard after bringing it to the notice of Home Minister", he added.

Karwar MLA Roopali Naik, presiding over the programme, said that measures would be taken towards installing a drinking water unit worth ten lakh rupees from the MLAs development fund.

Uttara Kannada District Superintendent of Police Shivprakash Devaraju, Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar, MLC Shantaram Siddi and many others were present on this occasion.
