Uttara Kannada sees spike in COVID cases; has third wave begun?

Karwar: The number of Coronavirus cases in Uttara Kannada is increasing day by day, creating panic among the people once again. The number of infected persons are increasing continuously for the last three days.  Coronavirus is on the rise in eight districts of the state, including Uttara Kannada district.

The Department of Transport recently started transporting buses and private rides and there is a bit of a stir at tourist destinations. The question now is whether such freedom will affect the people of the district coming in contact with other districts people.

In Uttara Kannada district, 75 people were infected with Corona on Saturday. Since there days, the number was 72. In other words, the number of cases is increasing day by day. Besides, the number of deaths in the last three to four days is also close to two. Similarly, the number of people living in home isolation is also high, so the number of active cases is also increasing. For all these reasons, the question arises as to whether the third wave of Corona has begun?.

There were 10 active cases in Karwar, 14 in Ankola, 16 in Kumta, 17 in Honnavar, 7 in Bhatkal, 6 in Sirsi, 3 in Siddapur, one each in Yellapur and Joida. While the number of active cases is increasing, the increase in the number of deaths is creating panic among the people. The toll has rised to 730 with the two deaths in Honnavar.
