Karnataka Gov’t will introduce a scheme for environment in the next budget : Bommai

Bengaluru:  Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai on Saturday said government will introduce a scheme for environmental protection during the next budget.

Speaking at a function as part of the National Forest Martyrs' Day, he said an annual study is required for avoiding environmental damage. Thus, a scheme will be presented in the next budget with a plan to alleviate the environmental shortage besides planning an environmental boost in the next budget, this can reduce the environmental loss to some extent he felt. "This is the first time state is working on a plan to prevent environmental damage, ”CM said.

"As human beings we also need to protect the environment and forests for the next generation. The state needs to grow about 10 per cent of the national average. He said the government would take necessary steps to save and cultivate the forest. Elephant corridors have to be maintained to control the man-animal-Conflict, he said .

"Everyone understands the importance of oxygen during these Covid times. Therefore, the need to increase oxygen through environmental protection, he said. Prior to the event, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the memorial of the martyrs.
