Indian Overseas Congress celebrates Gandhi jayanthi in Jeddah

Jeddah: Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Jeddah had on October 2, organised an event to commemorate the birth of the great Mahatma Gandhi, also known as 'Father of India'.

Mr. Siraj, Vice President of IOC stressed the importance of secularism and unity in diversity, while Aishwariya Jai Shanker spoke with highly structured form of address about the great Gandhiji. 

Mr. Qamar Saada displayed the inspiring quotes of Mahatma Gandhi through a power point presentation, which was well received by the audience. Mr. Wassim Mukadam mesmerised the audience with his Patriotic song, almost around 15 speakers shared their views with crisply due to time limit. All the speakers advocated the principles of Gandhi who was the leader of the freedom struggle of India and man who gave the world the philosophy of non-violence. 

The entire program had been well anchored by Mr. Jai Shanker lively, who introduced all the speakers in an attractive manner. Organisers assured to conduct many more programs in future to unite all like-minded people together.

The Program began with the recitation of verses from holy Qur'an by Zayan Qamar Saada followed by welcome speech Mr. Qamar Saada, General Secretary of IOC Jeddah.
