Bhatkal: Corona epidemic has spread all over the world and hundreds of people are dying from this epidemic every day, the number of deaths has exceeded in thousands in the country, but why is there so much fuss when the new case of a Corona-Positive comes to light in Bhatkal and why are we being put in panic? It is not appropriate to put pressure on us and harass when a new case arises. If we consider neighbouring city Mangaluru, new cases are reporting every day there, but we are being intimidated when a positive case comes to light twenty days later in Bhatkal', said Bhatkal JD(S) leader and active member of Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem Inayatullah Shabandari. "In case in the next couple of days, if two or three more cases comes to light in Bhatkal, we do not need to be afraid of it, instead we need to fight against this Corona virus," he said.

He was speaking at a meeting convened by the Inspector General of Police Devjyoti Rai here in Bhatkal on Tuesday. Further, Inayatullah Shabandri expressed his displeasure over the fact that the Chief Minister Yeddyurappa had arranged for free bus service to evacuate stranded people to their natives from Bengaluru, and the people of Bhatkal who were trapped in Bengaluru have left for Bhatkal on those buses. But the Bhatkal police and the Assistant Commissioner are saying that those buses will not be allowed to enter into Bhatkal. He said that those people are not coming here secretly, then who were they to change the decisions that are taken in the state cabinet? Don't they trust the government?, He asked.

Inayatullah said that Chief Minister Yeddyurappa has arranged for buses on which people stranded due to lockdown in Bangalore are returning to Bhatkal and you have no authority to stop those buses from entering Bhatkal. He asked that if the officials do not allow the two buses to enter Bhatkal that have left from Bangalore, then where will the people on the buses go?

Inayatullah Shabandari lauded the efforts of Bhatkal DySP and Assistant Commissioner during the end of Lockdown 2.0, on May 3, when people came out of their houses and hit the streets in the hope of getting a relaxation, the officials handled the matter very cheerfully.

He said that this time the police handled the matter without using batons on anyone which is commendable. He also appreciated the SP of the district and requested that no batons shall be used on the people while handling the situation.

In the meeting with IGP, Majlise Islah Wa Tanzeem President S M Syed Ahmed Parvez, General secretary Abdur Raqeeb MJ Nadvi, Dr Muhammad Haneef Shabab, Muhammad Sadique Matta, Advocate Imran Lanka and others were present, who also expressed their views on this occasion.

On the occasion, Inspector General of Police Devjyoti Rai appealed to the people that those who are stranded in other cities and want to come to Bhatkal, they need to wait for the next few days and should not break the law. "Once the situation in Bhatkal improves, we will facilitate for your return," he said.
