Mangaluru: Muslims perform special prayers seeking rain

Mangaluru: Hundreds of Muslim men and women participated in a special prayer organized by South Kanara Salafi Movement (SKSM) on Wednesday at Nehru Maidan in the city.

The prayers were organized early in the morning hours especially to seek divine intervention as the rain continued to evade Coastal Karnataka causing scarcity of water across the belt.

The prayers, which is also known as 'Salat ul Istasqa' were led by Sheikh Sakib Salim Umri.

BJP MLA Vedavyas Kamat was also present at the venue during the prayers.
