Karwar: Flood victims temporarily rehabilitated at Kinnar gram panchayat limits in Karwar taluk staged a flash protest by blocking the State Highway for some time complaining that the officials were dillydallying in providing basic facilities to the flood-affected.

They said that around 400 houses in the gram panchayat limits had submerged and so, two relief centres were set up. But the affected people lodged here have not been given clothes, blankets and other essentials. "The officers had assured of providing enough blankets but they have not kept their promise. However, the victims are facing the problem," they said.

Police and a few officials who met the protesters tried to pacify them. They withdrew the protest only after the officials said that they will keep their words.
