Coronavirus: Sirsi records 9 new cases, tally climbs to 66 in Uttara Kannada

Bhatkal: Nine people in Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district have tested positive for novel Coronavirus on Thursday. Few days ago, all those who had returned from other states were officially quarantined and their throat swab samples was sent for testing. It is learned that the report of 9 among them have come to be as positive, along with reports of 20 more people are awaited.

It may be recalled that except in talukas of Sirsi, Siddapur, Haliyal and Ankola, Corona cases were reported in all the other talukas of Uttara Kannada district. With today's latest report, the virus has also opened account in Sirsi. The people of Sirsi were already afraid of the outbreak in the city and suburbs due to the influx of people from outside the district.

With the new cases, total number of COVID-19 cases in Uttara Kannada district has climbed to 66 with 11 recoveries.
