Covid-19: Ex-Minister R V Deshpande writes to Uttara Kannada District In-Charge Minister

Karwar: Former Uttara Kannada District In-Charge Minister R V Deshpande has written a letter of suggestions with 21 factors to the present District In-Charge Minister Shashikala Jolle. The factors include the suggestions and steps to be taken to curb the spread of deadly Coronavirus in the district.

In the letter, it is urged that the immediate action should be initiated to overcome the shortage of hand gloves, mask and sanitizers in the various government hospitals in the district. The 50-lakh insurance covers for doctors and health workers as announced by Prime Minister should also be extended for the team of private doctors who are fighting against the spread of COVlD-l9 in the district.

It also said that the number of Coronavirus patients are increasing in the district. Hence, steps should be taken to avail facilities of Covid-19 testing centre at Karwar Medical college. The residents of Uttara Kannada district, who have migrated to other places and states for their daily works, have stuck with no help due to lockdown. The District In-Charge Minister should take steps to make sure no person from Uttara Kannada is in trouble due to the ongoing lockdown.

As a precautionary measure, the facilities have already been made at all government hospitals in the district. Similarly, the hostels and travellers bungalow in the district should be converted into a temporary hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients.

Altogether, former Minister R V Deshpande has written a 21-factor letter seeking to go through it and do the needful for the district.
