Body of drowned Bhatkali youth found in Shirali Venktapur river

Bhatkal: The body of a missing Bhatkali youth who had drowned at Kadvinakatta dam on Wednesday was retrieved from Venkatapur river on  Friday around 1:00 PM. 

It shall be recalled that the incident had occurred when the 16-year-old Ibrahim Abida had gone for swim along with his friends.

The body of Ibrahim was fished out from the river and was taken to government hospital for post-mortem examination and later will be handed over to the family.

DySP Valentine Dsouza, CPI Ganesh and members of various Social organisations rushed to the spot as the news spread in the region.

Huge crowd has gathered in the hospital premises.

Funeral prayer (Namaze Janaza) will be held at Bhatkal Jamia Masjid at 5:30 PM,  followed with the final rites at old town graveyard.
