Karnataka Ameer-e-Shariat calls to conclude all rituals of Friday prayers in 15 minutes amidst Covid-19 pandemic

Bengaluru: Karnataka State Ameer-e-Shariat, Maulana Sagheer Ahmed Rashadi, directed to conclude all rituals of Friday prayers in 15 minutes amidst Coronavirus outbreak as a precautionary measure of the time, and asked all Muslims to sincerely seek for repentance of the sins from the Almighty. He announced this on Wednesday after the decision was taken to avoid the spread of Covid-19 and protect public health at a meeting chaired by
Emarat-e-Shariah of Karnataka with Scholars, Imams and Doctors in Bengaluru. 

He further said that to overcome this Covid-19 pandemic, lone government or any organization can't fight, but it is the responsibility of every citizen to fight against this.

The following issues were discussed in this meeting:

1) The management of mosques are requested to take care of concluding all Friday prayers including sermons in just 15 minutes for the next three weeks and do not use loudspeaker while the sermon is delivered.

2) Mosques should be well-cleaned, especially focusing on mats, carpets, etc.

3) Make sure the washrooms, toilets, and drainage systems of Mosques are cleaned multiple times.

4) The Musallis (Worshippers) should be asked to make Ablution from home and wear their personal skullcaps.

5) Remove towels and temporary skullcaps kept in Mosques.

 6) Muslims should be asked to perform Sunnat, Nawafil (complimentary) prayers at home before arriving for Farz (Mandatory) prayers in mosques.

7) For those who are feeling the symptoms of this outbreak, it is better for them to pray in their homes.
