Joida: 4th standard student beaten up by teacher

Joida: In a shocking incident, teacher Rosayya Penchayya Reddypog serving in Birampali Lower Primary School in Joida taluk has beaten up a student in an inhuman manner by tying his hands and legs on Monday.

According to police, the teacher has allegedly beaten a fourth standard student for remaining absent from school for two days. The incident came to light when some youths rushed to the school on hearing the cries of the student. They took the teacher to task.

The villagers then confined the teacher in a classroom and informed it to the Education and Police Departments.

DDPI, Sirsi Diwakar Shetty, who got a report from the local officers in this regard, has ordered the teacher's suspension.

Dandeli Rural Police have registered a case in this connection. The student has been seeking medical treatment at Dandeli Government Hospital.

Meanwhile, the video of the teacher beating the student has gone viral on social media.
