‘1,334 foreign-returnees in home-quarantine’

Karwar: District In-charge Minister Shashikala Jolle informed that as many as 1,334 foreign-returnees have been home-quarantined in Uttara Kannada district. Of them, 164 people have completed 28-days of home-quarantine and 328 people are under 14 to 28 days home-quarantine period. 842 people are under strict monitoring of health officials.

She said that medical staff of all government and private hospitals and nursing students have been trained. There were over 65 private nursing homes in the district and health staff of all those hospitals have been trained. There is an availability of 407 N-95 face masks, 25,590 triple-layered masks, 436 personal safety kit, 78 VTM and 26 thermal scanners. Currently, 13 ventilators were available and 77 isolation wards have been set up. 10 isolation beds
have been kept ready in Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences.

‘Enough food, medicines’

She informed that there was enough stock of necessary medicines and food grains in the district and the necessary steps will be taken to ensure that these reach the needy. People of the district need not worry.

She said that Covid-19 was spreading across the globe and Uttara Kannada was not spared. So, the people must voluntarily follow the instructions given by the governments and the district administration.
