Non-release of funds

At the meeting, the members expressed their ire against non-release of funds for various works taken up last year, and said, the contractors were insisting on payment of bills. They further demanded action against those responsible for such delays.

Reacting to it, ZP CEO Mohammad Roshan said, notices have already been issued to those responsible for such negligence. Also, a release was issued on March 13, stating that the Treasury would stop accepting accounts of this year. Ten more days of time was given later. He then added that contractors need not be apprehensive of clearance of their bills.

Later, the Zilla Panchayat members appreciated those who are directly involved in the fight against Covid-19 including doctors of Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences, and ZP CEO Mohammad Roshan.

ZP Vice-President Santosh Renake, and others were present.
