Zul Hijjah moon sighted: Coastal Karnataka to celebrate Eid Al Adha on August 22

Bhatkal: The Zul Hijjah crescent was sighted today at Kappad, which is 22 km away from Calicut in Kerala state after Maghrib prayers, following the commencement of Zul Hijjah month.

Soon after the sighting of the moon, Bhatkal Qazis confirmed to it and declared Monday as the 1st of Zul Hijjah. Simultaneously, on the other side, Mangaluru and Udupi Qazis also declared the commencement of Zul Hijjah from tomorrow, 13th August.

Accordingly, Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on 22nd August, Wednesday in coastal Karnataka including Kerala state.
