Youth gets washed away in a pond in Karwar

Karwar: In the wake of a tragic incident reported in Amadalli village of Karwar taluk, a youth lost his life by drowning into the pond, when a group of three friends had been for swimming. The incident happened on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Sagar Chatrapathi Harikantra, aged 17.

Sources say, the trio had went for swimming on Monday evening, but the incident came to light today morning. Fearing the incident, Sagar's friends remained uniformed to his family members, where he was then found floating in the pond next day morning when the family members started searching him.

As the information was alerted, police personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the pond.

A case has been registered in Karwar rural police.
