Woman gets trapped in Papad making machine in Kumta; dies

Kumta: In a shocking incident, a woman lost her life after getting trapped into a Papad making machine. The incident happened on Sunday morning at a her residence in Mirzan in the taluk.

The deceased is identified as Malini Naik.

Reports from Kumta informed that the incident happened when the victim woman was spreading the papad grains manually into the machine at the time of power cut. The incident gave an ugly turn when the power returned at that moment, causing the woman's hands get trapped in the machine and resulted in her death. She was the sole breadwinner of her house and had started the business after the death of her husband.

With the aid of government fund, she obtained a machine and sold the prepared papad products to a private company in Karwar.

As the news of incident spread, the Kumta police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations.

A case has been registered.
