Truck laden with barrels of tar topples over on Honnavar NH-66

Honnavar:  A truck carrying several tons of tar toppled over on Karki NH-66 near Honnavar railway station on Monday.

According to sources, the accident occured at around 4.00 AM when the driver lost control of the vehicle while heading towards Goa from Mangaluru. As the barrels fell on the highway, the tar leaked out and spilled on the road, due to which traffic was disrupted for several hours.

No casualties were reported in the incident.

Honnavar police reached the spot soon after the incident and made arrangements to resume the traffic flow.
