State-level marathon in Ankola on August 19

Ankola: Ankola Rotary Club and R N Nayak Foundation are jointly organising a State-level Rural Rotary Club marathon, in Ankola, on August 19 (Sunday), at 7:30 am, Rural Rotary Club President Karthik K said.

The 10 km marathon is being organised to promote the dream of ‘Swachch Bharat’ propagated by Mahatma Gandhi. The run will be flagged off at Belekeri Cross and pass through Bhavikeri before concluding at Jaihind High School.

The race will be held in three categories-women category, under-35 men and above-35 men. First three winners, in each category, will be given Rs 15,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 4,000 respectively. Consolation prizes and medals will also be given. Those interested can register their names producing age proof before August 16 paying Rs 200.

Those who register their names later have to pay fee Rs 500. Bus facility from Ankola bus stand to Belekeri Cross has been made for the participants. Lodging facilities will also be provided for outsiders.
