Prepare to ensure peaceful polls in Uttara Kannada, DC told to police personnel

Karwar : With the State Assembly elections round the corner, the State police department and the district administration must work in unison to maintain peace and prevent evil forces from vitiating the election process, Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul said.

The deputy commissioner noted this while speaking after inaugurating the District Police Department Sports Meet, organised at the Police Parade Ground, in Karwar, on Thursday.

Sports activities are necessary to maintain one’s good physical health along with the other responsibility. To bust the work stress, police should also give priority to their personal life as well.

The discussions have been held with the senior officials of the department in order to create such an environment to facilitate the police personnel, Nakul observed.

Active part

Police officials of Bhatkal, Sirsi, Dandeli, Karwar, Women Police and District Armed Reserved Forces took active part in the sports meet.

Competitions are being organised both in individual and group games for the next three days.

District Superintendent of Police Vinayak Patil and Additional Superintendent of Police Gopal Byakod and other officials and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
