Reckless car driving kills 3-year-old child in Bantawal

Bantwal: In an incident reported here at Morji in the taluk, a speeding car lost control and hit a woman and her three year old child on 8th February, Thursday. Although the woman was severely injured, her child succumbed to the injuries on the way to the hospital. Moreover, many parked bikes which came in the way of the car were severely damaged.

The deceased child has been identified as Vaishavi (3yrs) d/o Pramila.

According to sources, Pramila was standing on the sideway of the road while returning from a relative’s house when suddenly an out of control Nano car crushed them and later rammed into some parked motor bikes ahead.

Both the mother and child had sustained severe injuries and were immediately taken to a hospital in Mangaluru. However, Vaishavi succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.

Police have registered the case and after visiting the accident spot, have arrested the car driver Mohiddin.
