Mangaluru: The United Muslim Front will be holding a protest rally on May 2 demanding justice for Ahmed Qureshi, an accused in two attempt-to-murder cases.

The United Muslim Front is accusing the police of harassing Qureshi before his arrest on March 28 in connection with an attempt to murder Prashant Poojary. The Muslim Front has alleged that the harassment has led to the malfunctioning of Qureshi’s kidneys. It has alleged that the harassment meted out to Qureshi was part of police action against Muslims.

Meeting

The Muslim Front’s convenor, K. Ashraf, told reporters here on Tuesday that Muslims will take part in the protest rally that will be followed by a meeting at the Nehru Maidan at 3 p.m. on that day.
