Missing man found drowned in Udupi

Udupi: The body of a man who went missing on July 8 was recovered on the banks of a nearby river at Bellal village in Kundapur taluk on Tuesday. He is said to have drowned.

Sources say, Govinda Poojary (46) was crossing a stream at Kuntady Mortu in Bellal village at around 3 PM on July 8, when he got caught in the water currents and was carried away. There was heavy rainfall on that day. Since he could not swim, he drowned.

The body was recovered from the riverbanks of the Chakra in the same village at around 10 AM on Tuesday. 

A case of unnatural death has been registered and Investigation is carried on.
