Udupi: Unidentified dead body found at Katapady

Udupi: A dead body of a worker was found with a heap of sand at Vidyanagara on Achchada Road near Katapady on 11th February, Sunday.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be traced and it is suspected that he was a migrant worker of north Karnataka origin.

The police suspect that he was murdered with a hoe late night on Saturday. The hoe which was reportedly used to eliminate him was found nearby the dead body.

The body was discovered by some locals on Sunday. As soon as the police were informed about the dead body they rushed to the spot and started investigation.

The body has been shifted to a hospital for post-mortem analysis and the police are trying to identify the deceased by contacting workers of north Karnataka origin who reside in the town.

A case has been registered at Katapady police station.
