Mangaluru: Man falls into uncovered drain, dies, MLA Bava pays visit

Mangaluru: A man accidentally fell into an uncovered drain here at Katipalla in Krishnapura late night on 10th February, Saturday and lost his life.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan (35), a resident of Katipalla in the city.

According to sources, Mohan was on his way home on Saturday night when he fell into a drain which was uncovered. He suffered grievous injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital by locals.

However, he did not respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries. The locals alleged that the contractor’s negligence was the cause for Mohan’s death.

Hearing of the incident, MLA Mohiddin Bava arrived at the hospital to visit Mohan and took the contractor to task.

A case stands registered at Suratkal police station.
