Mangaluru: Two arrested for pelting stones at masjid in Ullal

Mangaluru: In an attempt to disturb the communal peace in the city, stones were pelted at the Ibrahim Haji Juma Masjid in Natekal near Ullal on 9th January, Tuesday regarding which two accused have been taken into custody by the police.

The arrested accused have been identified as Yatiraj and Nithin from Sullia and Anekal.

According to the sources, these miscreants arrived to the masjid in Natekal area on bikes at night and started to pelt stones causing damage. They flew from the spot before the Konaji police arrived.

Demanding the arrest of the miscreants, the vendors of Natekal had closed their shops and protested. They had also requested the police to enable strict security measures so that such untoward incidents are avoided in the future.
