Man held for illegal liquor transportation

Karwar: The District Crime Branch police arrested a man who was illegally transporting Goan liquor worth Rs one lakh in a car, at Binaga ghat near Karwar on Friday morning. The accused was identified as Vinay Shant Nagekar of Bandishatta in Karwar taluk. Police said that the accused was carrying the liquor from Goa towards Honnavar. The car used in the crime and the liquor were seized. The operation was conducted based of a tip-off. Karwar Rural police have registered a case.
