3 of a family killed on the spot as truck rams into a car near Yellapur

Yellapur: In a ghastly road accident that happened in between car and a truck on Mavalli Cross NH63 in Yellapur of Uttar-Kannada district, one-year-old toddler along with her parents was killed on the spot, while another daughter of them sustained severe injuries. The mishap took place in the morning hours of Tuesday, June 26.

The deceased have been identified as Vinayak Hegde (40Yrs), his wife Archana (35Yrs), and their daughter Shravani (01Yr), while the injured is Yashaswini (04Yrs). All are said to be the residents of Sirsi taluk in Uttar-Kannada district.

The accident happened when the car was heading towards Hubli route from Sirsi, while the truck was on its way to Yellapur from Hubli. According to the sources, the family was going to Belgaum to get the school admission of injured Yashaswini.

The impact of the collision was such that the car was completely damaged right from front to rear.

As the information about the accident was alerted, Yellapur Police Sub-inspector along with his team rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations.
