Jayamala visits flood-hit areas in Udupi

Udupi: District In-charge Minister Jayamala visited the flood-affecin ed areas at Uppooru and Havanje in Brahmavar on Wednesday.

She visited the areas KG Road, Kudrubettu and Heerebettu and spoke to the people affected by the heavy rain.

The residents in the submerged areas were offered solace by the minister who extended all sorts of assistance in the process of rescue and rehabilitation. She directed the local administration to keep in touch constantly with the people in the areas that are under the threat of floods. The officials and the people’s representatives should be readily available, she insisted.

The minister visited the rain-affected Heerebettu Government Higher Primary School. She directed the tahsildar to take care of the children and instructed the officials to be on war-footing to make safer and alternative arrangements in case of emergencies.

She also instructed the officials to immediately allot the required amount of funds to help a poor family to construct a toilet after being informed that Sampa Poojary’s house has no toilet facilities owing to poverty.
