Karwar to have International Cricket Stadium; gets approval from state cabinet

Karwar: The prolonged dream of Uttar Kannada people seems to be coming true as Karnataka State Cabinet has approved for the construction of International Cricket Stadium in the district headquarter Karwar. Former Karwar MLA Satish Sail had taken this initiative and had worked with full efficiency for its approval from government. 

It is informed that Karnataka State Cricket Academy (KSCA) has approved 11 acres of government land in Savarapai region in the taluk for the construction of the stadium. It shall be recalled that a year back a proposal was kept seeking International Cricket Stadium in Karwar, following the meetings with Karnataka Cricket Board and District Administration were chaired by former MLA Satish Sail. District administration had then asked to take land available at Savarapai region in Chittakul gram limits on the lease. The State Cricket Academy officials had then inspected the land and had asked for only 11 acres of land area needed for the purpose of the stadium. It has been informed that the land will be taken on a yearly rent. The district administration in this regard had submitted all the necessary documents to the government asking to provide land.   

However, in a state cabinet meeting that held on Wednesday, it is approved to build International Cricket Stadium in Karwar. Former MLA Satish Sail rejoiced over the decision and has thanked the state government.

 

Speaking to presspersons, Satish Sail expressed his happiness over the green signal provided by the government for constructing International Cricket Stadium. He said that a prolonged dream of Karwar people likely to be true soon.
