Illegal sand transport: 5 trucks seized in Mundgod

Mundgod: Ankola based five trucks were seized by the police on Wednesday here at Mundgod on the charges of illegally transporting sand even after completion of permitted period.

Sources said that these trucks were given permission to transport sand on 8th January from 8 am to 7 pm. But, they were caught red-handed transporting sand on 9th January at 1:30 pm. The police immediately seized all five trucks and informed it to tahsildar. In this regard, tahsildar Ashok Gurani has written a letter to Mines and Land department asking serious action.
